Etnia Film Festival brings Asian cultures and colours to Turku - Added 4.10.2008 Etnia Film Festival opens on Thursday the 9th of October with a Sri Lankan film Forsaken Land won in Cannes in 2005. Festival ends with Vietnamese film Buffalo Boy, which won FIPRESCI award in 2004 when previewed for Academy Awards for best foreign language film. Iranian director Bahman Ghobadi, a merited Kurd arrives to Turku and presents two of his films, Turtles Can Fly and Half Moon. Other guests are documentarists: Australian Lara Damiani, French Richard Martin Jordan, Polish Andrzej Dybczak and Russian Olga Kornienko.Etnia Film Festival on the 9th to the 12th October - Added 16.6.2008 Etnia Association will hold it's seventh film festival in October. This year's theme will be Asia and it's indigenous cultures and modern day life. Most of the screened material will be documentaries, but we are seeking possible additions from the new Asian cinema. By far the confirmed films include Bahman Ghobadi's Turtles Can Fly.
